Seesaw Your Way to Formative Assessment Beyond Multiple Choice - K-12
Formative assessment doesn't have to be just about multiple-choice questions. Teachers sometimes need an opportunity to view drawings, quickly review work a student has done, look at a process, view a photo, etc. in order to understand student learning. Seesaw is an online portfolio/learning journal that allows students to turn in work via a variety of media. Teachers can instantly see work from students, and beyond formative assessment teachers can publish the work publicly online. Seesaw also provides parents an opportunity to view and comment on their own students work.
Kerri Brown Parker, Instructional Technology & Literacy Librarian & Bethany Smith, Director METRC, NC State University
